I am Mary Jardine, founder, creator and designer for Jardine of London. My background in the fashion industry was in the modelling world of running my own agency.   I have always loved handbags – what girl doesn’t. One of my dreams was to have my own brand luxury handbag business and finally I have realised my dream.

I believe in ‘responsible manufacturing’ and am proud to say all my products are handmade in England.  My designs are clean, aesthetically chic & elegant – whilst at the same time offer a functional and necessary purpose.

My inspiration for the gold star used in my brand name comes from the Jardine Star Brooch which was bequeathed to Queen Elizabeth II in 1981 by Lady Jardine. The brooch has eight points and a diamond is placed on a knife-wire between each point.

For my first collection I sourced the softest calf leather which give my bags their luxurious feel. For my second collection, I have used the most sumptuous goat-skin from a British tannery. It is equally soft, durable and will patina beautifully with age.

My inspiration for my first bag came from childhood memories of my leather music case – hence the music bar detail. I always wondered what it would be like to have something incredibly chic with lovely clean lines incorporating the bar but at the same time being practical. I feel I have achieved it with the Jardine of London ‘Queen’ and ‘City’ Bag.

Jardine of London have so far made bags for a number of celebrities including Dame Judi Dench, Keira Knightley, Naomie Harris, Emma Watson, Rosamund Pike and Naomi Watts.

“Just wanted to drop a line to say how much I love the bag I purchased. The size is perfect for my petite frame (thank you for the adjustable shoulder strap) and I love that when it is open I can see everything inside. It is professional and pretty and practical and I will use it every day. Thank you for making such a beautiful bag. I am so happy to have one.”
Mrs K Taylor, Raleigh, USA

“The ‘Judi’ Clutch is the perfect balance of sophistication and understated chic. It is a ‘grown-up’ handbag; it reminds me a lot of the Chanel bag my grandmother carried”

 Sarah from Slick Mummy

“I am a proud owner of and adore my Jardine bag. It is exactly what I have been looking for, a crossover bag in all senses of the word. I wear it during the day with the long strap and in the evening I either take the shoulder strap off or simply store it still attached in the bag itself. This bag has been absolutely everywhere with me!”
Minnie Lucey, Cardiff

“My small Queen red bag is perfect in so many ways.  Your design is spot on.  The leather is firm enough that it doesn’t collapse yet beautifully soft to touch and it has a light interior so I don’t have to put my glasses on to find things in it and then that fabulous red!”

Ms H. Chelsea, London

“My lovely bag arrived safely today and it is great! Thank you. It seems perfect in every way: it is not too big/long; it is not too heavy; it has a light coloured interior (vital as one gets older and can’t find one’s mobile/keys); it is a great colour. I read about your company in the The Daily Telegraph and I am delighted to have discovered you.”
